THE CHIP IS StALE

In partnership with the Opel brand, we launched ByLwansta’s sophomore album THE CHIP IS StALE at the Opel Sandton dealership. This collaboration was inspired by the appearance of the Opel Corsa Lite 2005 on the album cover, leading to a unique activation where Opel seeded ByLwansta with a new vehicle for a month and hosted the launch at their Sandton showroom.

The space between the displayed vehicles was transformed using an LED wall that projected THE CHIP IS StALE album visuals alongside promotional footage of the latest Opel Corsa. Invited guests enjoyed a live performance by ByLwansta and his band, with complimentary food and drinks served, as well as an opportunity to explore the showcased vehicles.

Upon entry, attendees received branded stickers, and merchandise such as tote bags, CDs, and t-shirts were sold out of the boot of one of the Opel vehicles, mimicking a “boot sale” style activation. We managed event photographers and videographers, ensuring they captured both the live performance and the integration of the Opel brand into the event.

Our team oversaw the onboarding of interns and on-site assistants to manage tasks such as merchandise sales, guest assistance, and technical support. The staff management extended to coordinating with Opel’s dealership team to ensure alignment between the brand and the artistic experience.
